Parents
Everything you need before the first practice, and the questions every new family asks.
Questions
My kid has never wrestled. Is that okay?
Most of our Bantams have never wrestled. The first three weeks are stance, motion, and how to fall safely. Nobody is thrown in a match until they are ready.
What does the $185 cover?
USA Wrestling membership, insurance, the club singlet, practice all season, and entry to our home tournament. Away tournaments are $20 to $35 each and optional.
Do we have to go to tournaments?
No. Plenty of first year wrestlers practice all season and only wrestle at the Rumble. Tournaments are there when your kid wants them.
What gear do we need?
Wrestling shoes and headgear. We have a loaner bin for both, and a used gear swap at the first practice.
Is there financial help?
Yes. Nobody is turned away over money. Email the treasurer and it stays between you and her.
How do tournaments work?
Weigh-ins early, then brackets by age and weight. Most kids wrestle three or four matches. Bring snacks, a chair, and patience. We send a one page guide before your first one.
Who do I contact?
Coach Ray for anything on the mat, the treasurer for money, and the club email for everything else. All three are on the registration confirmation.
